Frequently Asked Questions
Who is and isn't a good fit for Beyond Finance?
Beyond Finance is the best fit for someone who has credit card or personal loan debt, is living paycheck-to-paycheck, and struggling to keep up with payments. The program tends to make the biggest difference for people carrying larger balances, often $20,000 or more, where high interest makes the debt especially hard to escape on your own.
Beyond Finance isn't the right fit if you have less than $5,000 in debt, don't have a stable or regular income, are looking for help with federal student loans, or are dealing with secured debt.
What services does Beyond Finance offer?
Beyond Finance can evaluate you for a variety of solutions including debt consolidation loans and debt relief programs — and our financial wellness offering is built on the Financial Wellness RESET™ Framework, a proprietary evidence-based model developed by Dr. Erika Rasure, PhD, CFT™.
- When you get matched for a favorable debt consolidation loan, the lender will fund enough for you to pay off your higher interest debts, and sometimes offer the option for lower payments.
- When you enroll in a debt relief program, Beyond Finance consolidates and lowers your payments, and works with your creditors to secure more affordable repayment terms which helps limit the impact of interest compared to making minimum payments. A typical debt relief program lasts 2–4 years.
- With the Financial Wellness RESET™ Curriculum, you can work through a free, five-module self-paced program developed by Dr. Erika Rasure, PhD, CFT™ — Chief Financial Wellness Advisor at Beyond Finance. Built on the proprietary Financial Wellness RESET™ Framework, the curriculum is designed to help you explore the behavioral and emotional patterns that determine whether financial strategies last, guiding you through five dimensions of financial wellness: Recenter, Examine, Simplify, Empower and Transform. The curriculum is an educational resource intended for informational purposes only and it's available to everyone at no cost.
What types of debt can Beyond Finance help with?
Beyond Finance can help with unsecured debt: credit card debt, personal loan debt, medical debt, and some private student loans. We're not able to assist with federal student loans, tax debt, or secured debt like mortgages or auto loans.
How much lower can I expect my payments to be with Beyond Finance?
Beyond Finance clients typically see their eligible monthly payments lowered by at least 40%, with an average monthly savings of $480 per month.
How long would it take to eliminate my debt?
Typically, Beyond Finance clients can expect to eliminate their eligible debt in 24–48 months.
Is Beyond Finance a legitimate and accredited company?

How much does Beyond Finance charge?
There's no cost to find out whether we can help. Beyond Finance starts with a free, no-commitment phone consultation, so you can explore your options and talk through your situation with a Consolidation Specialist without paying anything or committing to a program.
Fees only come into play if you decide to move forward with a debt relief program — and those fees are success-based, which means there's no upfront fee to enroll. Fees are calculated as a percentage of your enrolled balance and typically run from 15% to 25%, depending on your debt amount and where you live.
How can I succeed with Beyond Finance in ways that go beyond my debt?
Beyond Finance is focused on the overall financial wellness of our clients. In fact, clients rate their financial habits at an average of 5.7/10 before seeking our help, and at 8.1/10 after working with Beyond Finance.
Our two financial therapists Dr. Erika Rasure and Nathan Astle (both holding a CFT™ designation) lead 5 financial wellness sessions a week to address all aspects of our clients’ financial health.

What is debt consolidation?
There are different kinds of debt consolidation, but all involve consolidating multiple debts into one.
A debt consolidation loan can help you pay off your higher interest debts, leaving you with one (sometimes) lower payment.
Another kind of debt consolidation, a debt relief program, also involves consolidating to a single lower payment. With debt relief, the company will contact your creditors and work to make agreements with them, reducing your balances and locking in affordable payment terms.
A credit card balance transfer is yet another kind of debt consolidation. This process allows you to move your higher interest debt to a low interest credit card (usually with a 0% introductory rate), so you can work to pay off your debt quickly before that optimal rate expires. You typically need a certain credit score to qualify for lower interest rates.
When is debt consolidation a good idea?
Debt consolidation can be a good idea for someone who is struggling to keep up with high interest debt. It can also make things significantly simpler with a single — and often lower — payment.
Why shouldn't I just keep making minimum payments?
Most people don't realize this, but making minimum payments can keep you stuck paying for decades, and have you ultimately paying double or triple what you currently owe.
For example, someone making minimum payments on $30,000 of credit card debt would ultimately end up paying over $100,000 over the span of roughly 23 years.*
In fact, credit card companies are legally obligated to share on your statements how long it would take to pay off your debt (and how much it would cost), by just making minimum payments.
*Assumes an APR of 25% and 2.75% minimum payment.
